Paul Schroeder, vice president and head of the Abt SRBI Transportation Safety Group, has extensive experience managing studies for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and U.S. Department of Transportation. Recent work includes the 2012 National Survey of Bicyclist and Pedestrian Attitudes and Behavior, the 2012 National Survey of Distracted Driving Attitudes and Behavior, and the 2011 National Survey of Speeding Attitudes and Behavior.
A strong background in public health research also informs Mr. Schroeder’s work in the safety arena. Prior to his work with NHTSA and USDOT, he managed large data collection efforts for the National Cancer Institute and conducted international health studies. Mr. Schroeder began his career as a survey methodologist at the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the research faculty at the Center for Survey Research. He is a specialist in complex sampling design, data quality, analysis, and managing ongoing data collection efforts.
Mr. Schroeder holds a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Virginia and a master’s certificate in project management from Villanova University.
