Geographic Based Statistics for Survey Research

Release Date: 12/10/2013

Geographic Information System (GIS) technology is playing a growing and, in many cases, an invaluable role in many aspects of survey research. Abt SRBI is a leader in applying GIS to a wide-range of survey tasks. In this webinar, Timothy Michalowski, Abt SRBI GIS Director, demonstrates the application of an advanced GIS topic, the use of Geographic-based statistics.  The webinar focus on the concept of Spatial Autocorrelation, and the statistical tests for clustering, randomness or dispersion in survey data.  Methods presented include Density, Interpolation, Inverse Distance Weighting, Local/Global Morans’ I, Getis-Ord, and Exploratory Geographic Regression.  The webinar offers four real-world examples on the of these Geographic-based statistical methods for survey research projects.
